Assunta is Kaylee's never-seen grandmother. She is described as being "voracious" by Kurt. She is very similar to Renée Taylor's characters in The Nanny and Victorious (Sylvia Fine and Mamaw Shapiro) as she is very gluttonous, wants Kaylee dating a guy who loves her (and not Steve) and has a very loud voice. Assunta knows Dexter (whom she knows about his asperger syndrome and bonds well with) and almost always gives him a non-sense guidance.
